You log a round hole by hole — score, putts, fairways, greens — and over time it works out where your shots are actually going. It handles handicaps to WHS rules, runs the formats people really play (Stableford, matchplay, four-ball, skins and the rest), and keeps a league table for your regular group.
It is free, carries no advertising, and does not sell data. There is no paid tier.
Hip.Golf is built and operated by David Flavell, in the United Kingdom. It is not a company; it is one developer and a golf group. Anything at all — a bug, a question, a security report, or a check that a link you were sent is really ours — goes to hipgolfapp@gmail.com, and there is a security.txt at the usual place.
Several of these ask you to sign in, which is worth explaining rather than leaving you to guess:
| Address | What it is |
|---|---|
hip.golf | The app itself. Sign in, or install it to your home screen. |
hip.golf/manage | The organiser console — the same account as the app, on a big screen, for whoever runs your group's competitions. Entering a full field's scores on a keyboard beats doing it on a phone. |
hip.golf/play/… | A live leaderboard behind a share link. No account and no app needed — this is the one your organiser sends round on the day. It only ever shows scores; it never asks for anything. |
hip.golf/group/… | A golf group's league table behind a share link, sent by someone in the group. Read only, with no account or app needed. It shows names, scores and courses, and nothing else. |
hip.golf/import | Brings your existing Garmin round history in, so you do not start from an empty history. |
hip.golf/terms.html | The Terms of Use: what you can post, and how reports and blocking work. |
hip.golf/delete-account.html | How to delete your account, in the app or by email. |
hip.golf/privacy.html | The privacy policy: what is collected, why, and how to delete all of it. |
Accounts are created in the app, and the same email and password work everywhere above. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which is why the sign-in request goes to a supabase.co address rather than to hip.golf — that is the database and auth provider doing its job, not your details being sent somewhere unrelated. Passwords are stored only as a hash, by them; they are never visible to us. The full list of providers is in the privacy policy.
We will never email you asking for your password, and no legitimate Hip.Golf link will ever ask you to "re-verify" or "confirm" an account by entering credentials from a message. If something claiming to be us does that, it is not us — please forward it to the address above.
That happens, and it is worth being straightforward about why. hip.golf is a young domain on an uncommon top-level domain, the app is not yet publicly released, and so almost no traffic-reputation system has an opinion about it yet. Filters that score unknown domains carrying sign-in forms will sometimes flag it. There is nothing hostile on this site, and it is the same code that ships in the mobile app.
If you are an administrator reviewing an alert and want it confirmed by a human, please email hipgolfapp@gmail.com — a reply usually comes the same day.
